Matthew A. Korth

Engineering

Matt has been involved in lower volume complex manufacturing for over 25 years. He started his career working various machines and was responsible for setup and implementation of new equipment. Working on a Bachelor of Science in Management & Information Systems he worked 60+ hours a week manufacturing product for Off Highway and Agriculture. In 2002 Matt graduated from Oakland University and started his career in manufacturing engineering. As a manufacturing engineer Matt was successful in many areas of process improvement, he is detailed and believes that a strong process is the most important ingredient in making quality parts at or below target pricing. SMED events were led, quick changeover pit crew mentality was established, and setup time was reduced by over 60% in key value streams. Quality also was improved with robust process documentation that reduced the skill level required to setup and maintain quality parts. Matt was promoted to Engineering Manager within 2 years and held that position for 10 years. During those 10 years Matt was involved in several successful marketing campaigns and quoted and landed opportunities in several other industries including Aerospace. For the next 5 years Matt was promoted to CEO/President of a complex low volume manufacturing company. His reputation as an effective, process-oriented leader allowed him to successfully lead this organization for the next 5 years including a transfer from a privately held organization to Private Equity ownership. The key to success in leading an organization with revenue of over $50 million US dollars was his ability to train, motivate and lead cross functional teams with Key Performance Indicators. In 2019 Matt opted for a new challenge in the Aerospace industry. Matt is currently serving as Engineering Manager of Vital Engineered Components Company in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
